FINALLY!

I wish i really had taken a picture with my finished application all wrapped up and sealed to be sent off. Yesterday I mailed in my complete application for Keio, what I've been working on for the past nearly three months. I also turned in a couple other things early that were due in April, so now my box of paperwork is almost empty! Last night I wrote out the final requirement for the Duttenhaver scholarship, the personal statement. I ended up with SIX pages. I hope that wasn't too long. Haha. I turned that in this morning and will hopefully be finding out about it in the next few weeks. I also fully decided to do the Bridging Scholarships Abroad scholarship, which I'm pretty much done with besides a copy of my transcript. Luckily, my Japanese professor wrote me two more letters of rec to use for both my scholarships and I hope that will help my chances (since she is one of the higher Japanese professors here). Besides that, I've still been working on saving up, but money is really tight since I've actually splurged on a couple things here and there. Thankfully, I'll be getting my paycheck from work on Monday , so I'll actually have some spending money for a little while.

The next step for me is just to wait until Keio sends me my letter of acceptance (which I'm really hoping they will? I'm not even sure how concrete it is though) so I can choose housing, classes, get my visa in order, etc. As for right now, the plan is to go to Japan a week or two early to visit family in Osaka and Kagoshima, then potentially taking the Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo to start my ILP program. Yep, good stuff. I've already talked to my grandpa and uncle about it and both are alright with me coming to stay. My dad will most likely come with me too since he wants to see his family, so that's bound to be awkward on a million levels.
